This course has been developed by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s (SMBC) Travel Assistance Service (TAS) as a pre-requisite session, This course is designed to explain the main role and responsibilities of passenger assistants working on TAS contracts, as well as covering the basics of disability awareness and safety when travelling with passengers.
Suitable for;
Any individual planning on working as a passenger assistant on TAS contracts for SMBC. This level will form the basis of your passenger assistant training, with an expectation for you to complete a practical demonstration witnessed by your operator. You will then be expected to attend a face-to-face session once government guidance allows for this.
