Signs of Safety (SofS) Virtual Training Target Audience

This course is primarily for those professionals (statutory and voluntary) who either work predominately or who have regular contact with children and young people

Aims:

To understand the ‘Signs of Safety Assessment & Planning Framework’

To learn a Little History: the creation & evolution of the approach

To practice ‘Mapping’ in brief

A demonstration of Danger Statements, Safety Goals and Scaling Questions in brief

A demonstration of safety planning in brief

Using the ‘Words & Pictures Explanations’ and involving Children with ‘The Three Houses’

Learning Outcomes:

To feel confident in recognising and contributing to the Signs of Safety process

To feel confident in using Signs of Safety in meetings, recording, reporting, and direct work with families

To be able to understand ‘mapping’ and its purpose

To create danger statements, safety goals and scaling questions

A demonstration of safety planning in brief

Using the ‘Words & Pictures Explanations’ and involving Children with ‘The Three Houses’
