CWT Level Training Target Audience

This course is primarily for those professionals (statutory and voluntary) who either work predominately or who have regular contact with children and young people; for those who hold particular responsibilities for safeguarding and for those who hold positions as professional advisors.

Aims:

  • To enhance participants knowledge, understanding and confidence and strengthen their ability to work together effectively with other agencies when supporting children and young people in the  Single-Agency, Multi-Agency and Statutory arena.
  • To recognise the role you play when we say ’safeguarding is everybody’s business’ and how you can support children, young people and their families across the continuum of support.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To understand the Sandwell context, structure and priorities when safeguarding children and young people
  • To feel confident to support your colleagues and safeguarding team when concerns are noted for children and young people
  • To recognise the role you play in ensuring the voice of the child is heard and considered throughout the safeguarding process
  • To understand consent and information sharing
  • To be able to identify, assess and articulate the impact of risk on the child
  • To understand the roles and responsibilities of your organisation and of you as an individual
  • To recognise and respond appropriately to challenges posed within the multi-agency safeguarding arena.
  • To feel confident to use Sandwell’s Resolution and Escalation policy
