Aims
- To increase understanding of reasons why families may not, initially, want to engage with services and the forms that this can take
- To consider lessons from practice, research and Serious Case Reviews/Child Practice Reviews regarding the implications for work to safeguard children in these families
- To facilitate discussion and address concerns about working with families who are resistant, partially compliant or deliberately mislead agencies
- To gain further understanding of patterns of behaviour that indicate deception and risk
- To increase ability to assess risk to children living in families where they may be hidden from professional view
- To develop skills to identify and challenge deliberate avoidance and misrepresentation
This training is either delivered full day or over two half days - please book the most suitable for your availbility as agreed with your line manager.
