Detail:

One of the key priorities within the Supporting Families Framework is reducing parental conflict

Family relationships - parents/carers in frequent, intense or poorly resolved parental conflict, families with wider conflict and relationship issues.

When Practitioners work with families within Multi agency  Early Help there is often parental conflict within the relationship, purely because of the complexities of their lives. Sadly parental conflict can be detrimental to children witnessing it, whether the parents are together or not.

This training will reinforce this message, and will start to look at tools which might help families start to resolve issues in a respectful way. The session will also look at the differences between Parental Conflict and Domestic Abuse and will suggest some questions which might help survivors start to talk to professionals.

The training will be virtual and will be taken by Alan Savill, Reducing Parental Conflict Champion Lead at Walsall Council, who has trained over 9000 professionals in this area. This essential training is 3.5 hours long , with the potential of other practice sessions in the next year to allow delegates to use examples from their  work load in order to plan strategies to help the families they  work  with
